The best cocktails in town
If New York City had its own drink it would surely be the cocktail. New Yorkers are obsessed with cocktails and bar staff have turned the shaking of these classy drinks into a true art. The range of cocktail bars the city has to offer is huge, with one being even more trendy than the other.
Shhh… don’t tell!
Most people will pass by Crif Dogs without noticing anything unusual, but in the back of this ordinary hotdog venue is an old phone booth. Enter the booth and you’ll suddenly find yourself in PDT, the trendiest cocktail bar in the East Village. The well-hidden space features the best trained bar staff and the most exclusive cocktails. PDT stands for ‘Please Don’t Tell’, but since nobody is good at keeping secrets, nearly all self-respecting New Yorkers are familiar with the location. Booking is recommended!
Cocktails in robes
The roof terrace of 230 FIFTH, simply named after the address, is one of the most popular in New York. Enjoy amazing cocktails whilst sitting between waving palm trees with phenomenal views of the Empire State Building. It truly is a surreal experience. The venue is often used for events including film premieres and fashion parties. Inside you’ll find a stunning panorama lounge and the terrace is open throughout the year, with so-called ‘signature robes’ provided whenever the weather turns colder. Cocktails in dressing gowns… Only in New York!
Green tea and fireflies
Pegu Club is known as the best cocktail bar in SoHo and with good reason. Owner Audrey Sanders is seen as one of the greats in the field of modern mixology and the bar has claimed numerous awards. The menu includes cocktails made with unusual ingredients and attractive names such as Jamaican Firefly, Fleur de Paradis and the much lauded Earl Grey Martini. The interior is mysterious: Asian with a hint of Manhattan chic.
